Community Ideas
These are ideas I've heard while having conversations around town. Some come from business owners, others from families or students. I'm not looking to take credit — I want to get conversations going so we can continue to look for new ideas together.
Lake Fisher Task Force
Form a community-led group to explore trails, recreation improvements, annexation possibilities, and evaluate potential housing development while being good stewards of the public resource.
Federal Tax Incentive Program
Use existing federal tax incentives to allow residents to donate toward public projects with a tax benefit, reducing pressure on city budgets.
Tool Library Expansion + Maker Space
Expand the existing tool library at the public library and explore adding maker space capabilities or a remote worker hub to support local innovation and collaboration.
Industrial Park Development
Explore expanding or relocating the industrial park to attract businesses and jobs that fit Bloomfield's strengths.
Youth Entrepreneurship Support
Incentivize young entrepreneurs through microgrants, simplified business licensing, or mentorship programs.
Activate Empty Buildings
Use temporary pop-ups, art installations, or other creative uses to keep empty commercial buildings active while seeking permanent tenants.
Infrastructure Partnerships
Leverage grant-writing experience to pursue joint projects with neighboring communities that could benefit everyone.
Energy Efficiency Incentives
Help residents and businesses access state and federal programs for energy improvements that reduce long-term costs.
Share Your Ideas
Bloomfield works best when we work together. What ideas do you have for our community's future?
Areas I'm especially interested in hearing about:
- Economic development and job creation
- Recreation and quality of life improvements
- Infrastructure and efficiency opportunities
- Ways to support our youth and families
- Creative solutions to common small-town challenges
Not every idea will be feasible, but every idea deserves consideration. As mayor, I'll evaluate suggestions based on community benefit, fiscal responsibility, and practical implementation — just like I've done with successful projects in the past.
